- She was screaming so loudly that her voice echoed into the hallway outside the room.
- Her mind went completely blank and she could not think about anything.
- Every time she was stimulated, she felt an increasingly strong desire to feel it even deeper inside.
- After orgasming from deep cervical stimulation, she felt incredibly satisfied and happy.
When women experience vaginal orgasms through deep cervical stimulation, these are some of the things they tell me afterward. Of course, stimulation of common erogenous zones such as the nipples and clitoris can feel very pleasurable too. But the pleasure some women experience from deep cervical stimulation can feel completely different from stimulation of other erogenous zones.
“What was all the sex I had before even like?”
That is how powerful and surprising the pleasure can feel.
You do not necessarily need a huge amount of sexual experience or special training focused on one particular area. In my experience, many women have the potential to experience vaginal orgasms through deep cervical stimulation. In this article, I’ll explain what this area is and how you can explore this kind of stimulation on your own.
What Exactly Is the Cervical Area?
Here, I’m referring to the area around the entrance to the uterus—the cervix and the surrounding deep vaginal area. Unlike the clitoris or G-spot, which are usually described as relatively specific areas, sensations from deep cervical stimulation can feel connected to a much wider region of the pelvis, including areas around the pubic bone, tailbone, sacrum, and pelvic bones.
Because of this, simply stimulating one tiny spot intensely may not create a clearly recognizable sensation for most women. Even women with a lot of sexual experience may be unfamiliar with this kind of stimulation because it can be difficult to identify the sensation on its own.
Deep Cervical Pleasure Is a Uniquely Female Sensation
Stimulation of common erogenous zones such as the nipples and clitoris can feel good even when only that one area is being stimulated. Deep cervical stimulation, on the other hand, is often difficult to experience as pleasurable in isolation. Interestingly, I think this resembles some of the differences between men and women in relationships.
Men also have body parts that correspond in some ways to the nipples and clitoris, but the cervix and uterus are unique to the female reproductive system.
A man may sometimes become strongly attracted to a woman because one particular quality—such as her face or body—is especially appealing. Women, on the other hand, may be less impressed by one exceptional quality if several other important things are seriously lacking. Someone may be very attractive, highly educated, or earn a lot of money, but if everything else feels completely incompatible, that single quality may not be enough.
Women often seem to place more importance on the overall balance of several different factors. I think deep cervical pleasure can work in a similar way.
Ideally, all of the following conditions come together, especially when a woman is first learning to experience vaginal orgasms through deep cervical stimulation.
- The vagina feels fully connected with and filled by the penis
- The deep cervical area is being gently rocked and stimulated
- There is communication that gradually increases arousal and pleasure
If these elements do not come together, it can be difficult to orgasm from deep cervical stimulation alone.
But when they do come together, the resulting pleasure and emotional fulfillment can feel extremely powerful.
Where Is the Cervix?
The cervix is not necessarily as far inside the body as many people imagine. Depending on the woman and her level of arousal, it may be within reach of the fingers.
There are women whose cervix sits relatively high and is difficult to reach, but for many women it can be reached with the middle and ring fingers.
The position of the cervix can also change as a woman becomes aroused.
(*There are physiological reasons for these changes during arousal, but I’ll skip the reproductive-biology details here (lol).)
That means an area that may initially seem difficult to reach can sometimes become easier to contact as arousal increases.
How Can You Find the Cervical Area?
The cervix is located at the deepest end of the vaginal canal and can feel like a firmer, rounded structure compared with the surrounding vaginal walls. Depending on your anatomy and level of arousal, you may be able to reach it with your middle and ring fingers.
Many women can physically touch the area themselves, but recognizing the sensation can still be difficult. Just as tickling yourself does not feel the same as being tickled by someone else, self-stimulation may feel very different from stimulation by a partner.
For some women, the area may also feel relatively insensitive at first. Even when a partner touches deep inside, it may be difficult to identify exactly what is being contacted. Physically, however, the cervix may be within reach of the fingers, depending on the individual.
How to Explore Deep Cervical Stimulation During Masturbation
The basic idea behind exploring this type of stimulation on your own is not especially complicated. I would summarize it in the following three steps. The method itself is simple, although becoming familiar with the sensations can take time.
1. Use a Dildo or Vibrator to Create Gentle Upward Pressure and Movement Near the Deep Vaginal Area
This may gradually create a strange, tingling, or deeply stimulating sensation. A toy with enough length and width to reach the area comfortably may make the stimulation easier to control. Rather than simply pushing straight inward, imagine creating gentle upward pressure from below.
2. Add External Stimulation to the Lower Abdomen
While continuing the internal stimulation, you can also apply gentle pressure or movement externally over the lower abdomen. There is no single correct way to do this, so use whatever feels comfortable and pleasurable for you. I also explain this more specifically during sessions when someone has difficulty understanding the sensation.
3. Use Your Imagination to Build Arousal
You can watch or listen to something that increases your arousal, or imagine a kind of sexual experience you would like to try or an ideal experience with someone you are attracted to. As the physical stimulation continues, imagine the pleasure gradually becoming stronger.
Notice your own reactions as they begin to match the image in your mind—your voice coming out naturally, your body becoming warmer, and the pleasure becoming deeper as your concentration increases. By combining these three elements in an environment where you can fully relax and focus, it may become possible to explore vaginal orgasms on your own.
Some women explore this kind of stimulation for a long time and then suddenly experience an orgasm one day, while others find that after experiencing it with a partner or during a session, they are able to reproduce the sensation on their own very quickly. If you are exploring vaginal orgasms with your partner, communication that helps build arousal can also be very important.
Why Doesn’t Deep Cervical Stimulation Always Feel Good During Sex?
It is not unusual for a woman to learn where her cervix is, explore the area herself, or have a skilled partner stimulate it and still feel almost nothing.
In fact, I think that is quite normal. Simply pressing or moving one deep area aggressively with the fingers is not necessarily going to feel pleasurable.
As a woman becomes more familiar with the sensations, finger stimulation alone may eventually appear to trigger an orgasm, but I think conditioning and learned associations in the brain play a major role. For many women, the sensation becomes pleasurable only when the stimulation involves the deeper pelvic area as a whole rather than one isolated point.
That is also why suddenly starting sex without any conversation, or silently stimulating the cervix with the fingers and expecting an orgasm, often does not work.
For this kind of deep vaginal pleasure, communication matters. Mechanical sex with little or no emotional interaction can make vaginal orgasms much more difficult.
The most important factor in deep cervical pleasure is how the brain interprets the stimulation. By communicating more while you are physically connected with your partner and gradually allowing yourself to relax both mentally and physically, you may be able to experience much deeper pleasure.
You Don’t Need to Think of It as “Training” Your Cervix
Unlike physical training such as building muscle, changes in female sexual pleasure are not simply about changing the muscles of the body. A large part of the experience comes from how the brain interprets stimulation and how vividly pleasure can be imagined and anticipated.
So rather than constantly changing the type of stimulation or buying more and more toys, it may be more useful to think about how you can create a mental state that allows your arousal to build.
Once your body and mind become familiar with vaginal orgasms, you may find it easier to experience similar sensations during sex with different partners.
It may be similar to a food you absolutely hated as a child, only to discover later that after becoming accustomed to it, you actually started to enjoy it.
Even something as instinctive as taste can change through experience and perception. In a similar way, I think the most important thing is to relax, explore deep vaginal stimulation at your own pace, and gradually change the way your mind interprets the sensation.
